Rhodes continues to host important events of the FIDE and ECU calendars. After the dominant victory of Teodora Injac at the European Women’s Individual Chess Championship 2025 (live games / information), it is time for the FIDE World Cadet & Youth Rapid and Blitz Championship.
The youth and cadet parts have been separated now for years – mainly due to hotels lacking the infrastructure to host such massive events. Last year’s edition was played in Slovenia, Terme Čatež (Youth championships) and Durres, Albania (Cadet championships). Rhodes hosts both events simultaneously, bringing together 433 players, with their coaches, parents, and accompanying staff.
