The popular Reykjavik open started in 1964 and it's still going strong, attracting hundreds of players every year. Previous winners include Mikhail Tal, Vassily Smyslov, Fabiano Caruana and Anish Giri. This year's edition features Parham Maghsoodloo and the legendary Vasyl Ivanchuk.

- Time Control: 90 mins for 40 moves + 30 mins after, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
