Season 21 of the Top Chess Engine Championship starts today at 17:00 UTC. A total of 46 engines will embark on a quest for glory in the most prestigious computer chess event.
Stockfish, the winner of Season 20 and holder of record number of TCEC titles, will have serious contenders – among them Lc0, Komodo Dragon 2, and a couple of surprise updates from the rest of the field.
The show starts with the Qualification League. It has a significant number of newcomers. For the first time TCEC fans will see in action Classic Ara, Drofa, Berserk, Amoeba, TomitankChess, Invictus, and Francesca. There are several notable returns – new versions for Nirvana, Booot, and Cheng.
