Duda, “I am fed up with classical chess, I might not participate in both the Grand Swiss and the World Cup

Polish Grandmaster Jan-Krzysztof Duda, currently 16th in the world, will most probably skip the FIDE World Chess Championship 2026 cycle altogether. This is what Duda shared himself an interview after the Chess.com Classic Play In, “I am pretty fed up with classical chess or rather with what I have been doing for a very long time in this format.I think it is quite likely that I will not participate in both the World Cup and Grand Swiss” See Duda’s interview at the end of the Play in video here

This news comes in addition to a large list of players that did not qualify to the Grand Swiss through game requirements

Jan-Krzysztof Duda is set to play with Magnus Carlsen in the CCT Finals.
