The event hosted in the building of the Tashkent International Chess Academy is dedicated to the memory of Georgy Agzamov, the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan.

The 2022 Tashkent Open – Memorial of Georgy Agzamov gathered 65 players from 13 countries who fought for the total prize fund of 20.000$ in 10 rounds swiss tournament. Serbian GM Aleksandar Indjic won the tournament, having better tiebreaks than Uzbekistani GM Javokhir Sindarov who had the same score of 7.5 points. Even though Sindarov had the sole lead before the last round with 7 points, Indjic scored in the 10th round against Misratdin Iskandarov to leap on the top, while Sindarov agreed for a draw after only 16 moves.

Six players tied for the third place but the Russian grandmaster who recently changed federation to Norway – Evgeny Romanov, claimed bronze with best tiebreak criteria.

The Uzbekistan Chess Federation is holding the international chess tournament 12th Tashkent Open – Memorial of Georgy Agzamov, the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan, from 22nd April to 1st May, 2018, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The Tournament is a 9-round Swiss in two sections – main group A and group B for the juniors under 12 years. The total prize fund is 20,000 US dollars.

The organization of the competition is carried out by the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Uzbekistan State Physical culture and sports Committee.

Last year winner was GM Olexandr Bortnyk from Ukraine.

Top regular prizes are 3000 / 2000 / 1300 / 1200 / 1100 USD. There are also special prizes for women, juniors under 16, girls under 16 and veterans.

Organizing Committee will consider all the applications and selectively, upon a compulsory preliminary agreement, accept 10 grandmasters with FIDE rating 2450 – 2600 on special conditions.

The lecturer was IA Ashot Vardapetyan (ARM), Chairman of the FIDE Rules Commission and FIDE Lecturer, and Assistant lecturer was IA Husan Turdialiev (UZB).

The venue of the Seminar was the Chess Academy of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent.

The lectures were in Russian language.

Nineteen (19) Arbiters from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participated in the Seminar. Eight (8) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures and the following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title and after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board or Congress:

Indian youngsters lifted the Asian Youth Chess Championship overall trophy with 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 7 Bronze here at Hotel Le Grande Plaza. Full list of winner below.

Before the Blitz event on Sunday, host Uzbekistan was slightly ahead of India due to superior silver medal count but the Indian girls had other ideas on Sunday morning as they bagged four out of six gold in the girls categories while A R Ilamparthi added open gold in Under-8 section to take the Indian gold medal tally to eleven and pushed the host nation to second place.

With eight gold in the kitty, Uzbekistan finished as first runner up while Iran secured the third position.

Asian Youth Chess Championships 2017 https://www.chessdom.com/asian-youth-chess-championships-2017/ Tue, 10 Jan 2017 23:23:52 +0000 http://www.chessdom.com/?p=61831 The Uzbekistan Chess Federation (UCF), under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) has the honour to invite all Asian national chess federations to participate in the 2017 Asian Youth Chess Championship and Asian Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships, which will be held in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, from 31st March (arrival) till 10th April (departure) 2017.

The tournament will be played using the Swiss System with 9 rounds. The rate of play will be: 90 minutes for the whole game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Time Control for Blitz 3’+2” and 9 rounds.
Time Control for Rapid Play 15’+10” and 7 Rounds. Where there are not enough players, the organizers have right to merge sections.

Entitled player must not have reached his/her birthday, respectively, before January 1st, 2017:
Under 8: Born on or after 1st January 2009
Under 10: Born on or after 1st January 2007
Under 12: Born on or after 1st January 2005
Under 14: Born on or after 1st January 2003
Under 16: Born on or after 1st January 2001
Under 18: Born on or after 1st January 1999

Uzbekistan Chess Federation

Every Asian National Chess Federation can register one official player in each category (under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 years old, Open and Girls) totaling a maximum of 12 invited players. No replacement from other categories can be made in case there is no official player in one category.

Other than Official Players, players shall be classified as Additional Players.Up to five (5) additional (extra) players can also be registered in each category by each National Federation. Extra players are responsible for their own costs.

The players placed 1-3 in the in the categories under 8-18 of 2016 AYCC shall be Official Players and have the personal right to participate in the Championship of the corresponding age-category or a higher age-category if the stipulation of Art. 1 is met. This privilege may be exercised once exclusively in the subsequent year following the year of qualification.

All persons, besides the players, shall be classified as Accompanying Persons. The National Federation shall be responsible for the costs of their Additional Players and Accompanying Persons.

Each participant (official or additional player and accompanying person) must pay Registration fee of 100 EUR to the OC before 15th February 2017 – the Registration deadline. This registration fee is compulsory and represents a confirmation of participation and includes accreditation and transportation from and to Tashkent International airport.

After the Registration deadline no official players will be accepted and their application will be treated as additional players. Also organizers reserve the right to refuse late registration or accepting with penalty charge of 50 EUR for each registration.

Registration form must be filled by National Federation officials and delivered to the OC before Registration deadline.

The Official Hotels of the event are Uzbekistan Hotel (four stars) and Hotel Le Grande Plaza (four stars). The tournament will be played in the venues of these hotels.

Winners of U18 categories shall be awarded the title of International Master (IM) / Woman International Master (WIM). 1st equal player shall get IM norm. The Silver & Bronze Medal winners shall be awarded the FIDE Master (FM) / Woman FIDE Master (WFM) title.

Winners of U16 category shall be awarded the title of FM / WFM and an IM norm. 1st equal player will get FM title. The Silver & Bronze Medal winners shall be awarded the Candidate Master (CM) / Woman Candidate Master (WCM) title.

Winners of U12 & U14 categories shall be awarded the title of FM / WFM. The Silver & Bronze Medal winners shall be awarded the CM / WCM title.

Gold, Silver & Bronze Medal (after tiebreak up to 3 players) winners of the U8 & U10 categories shall be awarded the CM/WCM title.

In the dramatic last round of the men’s section both overnight leaders Wei Yi and Le Quang Liem lost with white pieces to Indians Sethuraman S.P. and Ganguly Surya Shekhar, respectively.

Consequently, Sethuraman took the gold medal with 7,0/9 points. Half a point behind the champion there are eight players with 6,5/9 each, but after breaking the tie Le Quang Liem claimed the silver medal and Wei Yi earned the bronze.

In the women’s section WGM Kulkarni Bhakti from India won the gold medal with 7,0/9 points. WGM Dinara Saduakassova from Kazakhstan is silver, while WGM Soumya Swaminathan, also from India, took the bronze. Full standings below.

The top five players from the 2016 Asian (Open) Championship qualify for the 2017 World Cup. The 2016 Asian Women’s champion qualifies for the Women’s World Championship.

Eligible to participate are players from FIDE Zones 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7.

The tournament will be conducted as a Swiss System competition of 9 rounds and will be played according to FIDE regulations.

The top five players from the 2016 Asian (Open) Championship qualify for the 2017 World Cup. The 2016 Asian Women’s champion qualifies for the Women’s World Championship.

The two players finished on 7,5/9 points each.

The 10th Tashkent Open – Memorial of Georgy Agzamov was held on 18-26th April at the Shodlik Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The event was organized by the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan.

The tournament was a 9-round Swiss with the prize fund of 20,000 US dollars. 118 players from 10 countries competed.

The Uzbekistan Chess Federation is holding the international chess tournament 10th Tashkent Open – Memorial of Georgy Agzamov, the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan, from 18-26th April, 2016, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The official venue of the tournament is hotel “Shodlik Palace”.

The tournament is a 9-round Swiss with the time control 90 min + 30 sec increment from move one. The total prize fund is 20,000 US dollars.

The organization of the competition is carried out by the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan.

Last year winner was GM Vladislav Artemiev

Top regular prizes are 4 000 / 3 000 / 2 000 / 1 500 / 1 000 USD. There are also special prizes for women, juniors under 20, girls under 20 and veterans.
