The event had 7 sections: Open, Under 2200, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600, Under 1400 and Under 1100.

The Open Section was a 5-day 9-round Swiss tournament with FIDE norms possible. 87 players competed in this group.

The 15-years old IM Ruifeng Li and 2014 Serbian champion GM Aleksandar Indjic shared the first place with 7,0/9 points to earn $5225 each. Ruifeng Li took the winner’s trophy and bonus on better tie-break.

Aleksandar Indjic is the new Serbian champion https://www.chessdom.com/aleksandar-indjic-is-new-serbian-champion-2/ Fri, 18 Apr 2014 10:16:11 +0000 http://www.chessdom.com/?p=29951 OThe 19-year-old Grandmaster Aleksandar Indjic is the new Serbian chess champion for men. He was the sole winner of the prestigious 12-player round robin tournament and deservedly got the top prize of 1000 EU. Collecting 7,5/11, Indjic left the nearest opponent half a point behind.

GM Milos Perunovic became second with 7 points, while GM Nikola Sedlak took the bronze with 6,5 points.

The event took place from 7th to 17th April, 2014, at Hotel Patria, in Subotica, Serbia.

Boban Bogosavljevic is new Serbian Chess Champion https://www.chessdom.com/boban-bogosavljevic-is-new-serbian-chess-champion/ Sat, 27 Apr 2013 13:40:38 +0000 http://www.chessdom.com/?p=21192 Grandmaster Boban Bogosavljevic became the new Serbian Champion after the convincing victory at the event held in Vrnjacka Banja on 15-27th April.

Bogosavljevic, who celebrated 25th birthday during the final rounds, conceded only four draws to complete the Championship with 10/12 points, leaving the second placed IM Aleksandar Indjic full two points behind. Bogosavljevic earned 38 elo points.

The 17-years old Aleksandar Indjic also has a reason to celebrate as he scored his third GM norm and completed all title requirements in only seven months. Indjic thus became the youngest Serbian Grandmaster ever.
