This event targets young chess players in three age categories Under 8, Under 10, and Under 12 – divided into Open and Girls sections, with 48 participants in each category. The FIDE World Cup for Under 8, 10, and 12 categories in Batumi has come to a close. After nine days of intense battles over the chessboard, champions emerged in all six sections.

The closing ceremony, attended by FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich, FIDE Director of Special Tasks and President of the Georgian Chess Federation Akaki Iashvili, and other distinguished guests, was filled with a warm atmosphere of joy, celebration, and heartfelt farewells. It opened with the official FIDE anthem, followed by a performance of the Georgian national anthem by a children’s ensemble. The winners received their well-deserved awards, and all participants were recognized for their dedication, effort, and passion for chess.

Thanks to the Georgian Chess Federation and its President Akaki Iashvili, this competition was a great success. In the end of the video the organiser of the championship and the President of the Chess Federation of Belarus invited all participants to come back for the 2nd World Cadets Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, which will take place in Minsk in 2018.

FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship 2017 https://www.chessdom.com/fide-world-cadets-chess-championship-2017/ Thu, 30 Mar 2017 12:43:36 +0000 http://www.chessdom.com/?p=62482 International Chess Federation (FIDE), Confederation Chess Americas (CCA), Brazilian Chess Federation (CBX), Minas Gerais State Chess Federation, the WCCC 2017 Organizing Committee have the honor to invite all the FIDE member Chess Federations around the world to participate in the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship 2017 (under 8, under 10 and under 12 years old – open and girls) which will take place in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, between August the 21st, 2017 (arrival) and August the 31tst, 2017 (departure).

The venue is the Convention Center of the Golden Park Hotel (300 meters from Thermas World Resort 160 meters from Golden Park Hotel and 120 meters from Village Inn hotel.)

The tournament will be played using the Swiss system with 9 rounds. The national rankings will not be taken into account for pairings. The rate of play will be in accordance with the FIDE rules: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Participation

Each federation can register one (1) invited player in each of the categories – under 8, 10, and 12 (boys and girls). The total of six (6) invited players and one accompanying official (captain/trainer with a valid FIDE Trainer license) belonging to the national federation are invited by the Organizers. A player must not have reached his 8th, 10th, 12th birthday, respectively, before January 1st of the year 2017.

The players placed 1-3 in the previous World Cadet Championships and respective Champions of the Continental Youth Championships, shall have the personal right to participate in the World Cadet Championships of the corresponding age – category or a higher age-category if the age stipulation mentioned above is met. Such players shall also be classified as invited players and have to be registered by the national federation.

Other than invited players, players shall be classified as Additional players. All persons, besides the players or the Accompanying Officials, shall be classified as Accompanying Persons. A federation may register any number of Additional players and Accompanying Persons but only upon confirmation by the Organizing Committee.
The national Federation shall be responsible for the costs of their Additional Players and accompanying persons.

In order to provide appropriate tournament conditions, the Federations must complete carefully the official registration form (in the website and also send to National Federations) and send it back to the organizing committee by 21st June 2017. Any other form will not be accepted.

The venue of the Seminar was the Pella Hall of Sithonia Hotel, in Porto Carras. The Seminar was held concurrently with the FIDE World Youth & Cadets Championship 2015.

The lecturer was IA Panagiotis Nikolopoulos (GRE), Chairman of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturers were IA Argiris Kitharidis (GRE) and IA Ioannis Mitrou (GRE).

30 people from Greece, India, Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Armenia and Canada participated in the Seminar.

Twenty two (22) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures and the following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:

The players from India dominated the event, winning as many as 11 medals, among them 5 gold. Russia and USA took 4 medals each, but none of them was gold. Iran, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Germany, Greece, Uzbekistan and Vietnam have one gold medal each. Full list of the winners below.

Mosadeghpour Masoud cruised to the victory in the Open U18 leaving the nearest followers a full point behind. In the Girls U18 WFM Mahalakshmi M lost her game, but she already secured the gold medal with one round to spare.

One of the most dramatic sections was Open U16. After the multiple change of the leaders throughout the event Vogel Roven emerged as the winner. The local hero WIM Tsolakidou Stavroula won five games in a row to claim the gold medal in Girls U16.

Vokhidov Shamsiddin won the Open U14 on better tie-break. WFM Vaishali R was rather convincing in the Girls U14.

The Open U12 finished in a three-way tie on the first place. CM Muradli Mahammad took the gold medal on best tie-break score. Among the Girls U12 WFM Salimova Nurgyul won the medal on the better tie-break.

Both U10 sections ended in a two-way ties where the winners were to be decided on additional criteria. The Indians were the most successful – FM Praggnanandhaa R claimed the gold in Open, while Rakshitta Ravi was best among the Girls.

As was expected, Bharath Subramaniyam H won the gold in the Open U8. After the dramatic finish in the Girls U8, WCM Nguyen Le Cam Hien took the gold medal on better tie-break.

The penultimate round of the FIDE World Youth & Cadets Championship 2015 was played today in Porto Carras, Halkidiki.

Mosadeghpour Masoud made a quick draw to reach 9,0 points and maintain the lead in the Open U18 section half a point ahead of GM Alekseenko Kirill.

In Girls U18 WFM Mahalakshmi M of India is already celebrating as she secured the title with one round to go with 9/10 points.

In the Open U16 section there has been another change of the leaders. Agmanov Zhandos lost and now Vogel Roven (GER), FM Luca Jr Moroni (ITA) and FM Haik M. Martirosyan (ARM) are on top with 8 points each.

The local star WIM Tsolakidou Stavroula defeated the co-leader WFM Kiolbasa Oliwia in Girls U16 and now she is sharing the lead with WIM Bykovtsev Agata (USA) and WFM Sieber Fiona (GER) with 8 points each.

In the Open U14 the overnight leaders Vokhidov Shamsiddin and FM Esipenko Andrey are now joined by FM Fakhrutdinov Timur. In Girls U14 WFM Vaishali R from India won another game and maintained the lead with 8,5 points.

In the Open U12 section anything is possible as five players share the first place with 8 points each: CM Nihal Sarin (IND), CM Muradli Mahammad (AZE), Firouzja Alireza (IRI), Nesterov Arseniy (RUS) and CM David T Peng (USA).

In Girls U12 WFM Salimova Nurgyul (BUL) is on the winning row, holding the lead with 9,0 points, but Yip Carissa (USA) is following the pace and is only half a point behind.

In the Open U10 FM Praggnanandhaa R. (IND) and Makoveev Ilya (RUS) enter the final round with equal number of the points – 8,5. In the respective Girls section Song Yuxin (CHN) lost her game but is still on the top together with WCM Mungunzul Bat-Erdene (MGL) and Rakshitta Ravi (IND).

In Open U8 Subramaniyam H Bharath (IND) is the biggest candidate for the title, as he leads with 9 points, full point ahead of the followers.

In Girls U8 Ivanova Dilyana (BUL) emerged clear leader with 8,5 points.

The FIDE World Youth & Cadets Championship 2015 continued with round 9 here in Porto Carras, Halkidiki.

Mosadeghpour Masoud resumed the winning row in the Open U18 to reach 8,5 points and extend the lead to a full point ahead of GM Alekseenko Kirill.

WFM Mahalakshmi M won another game in the Girls U18 section to maintain a full point margin ahead of the group of followers.

Agmanov Zhandos from Kazakhstan defeated the long-time leader in Open U16, FM Fawzy Adham, to overtake the top position with 7,5 points. A large group follows only half a point behind.

In Girls U16 WFM Sieber Fiona (2180) from Germany and WFM Kiolbasa Oliwia (2182) from Poland share the first place with 7,5 points each, after making a draw in the direct encounter of the 9th round.

In the Open U14 there is again a tie for the first place as Vokhidov Shamsiddin caught up with FM Esipenko Andrey on 7,5 points each. In Girls U14 WFM Vaishali R from India maintained the lead with the same number of points.

The top seed and long-time leader in Open U12, FM Abdusattorov Nodirbek, was defeated and now a group consisting of Firouzja Alireza, CM Nihal Sarin and Andrew Z Hong shares the first place with 7,5 points each.

In Girls U12 WFM Salimova Nurgyul won another game to preserve half a point lead ahead of the rest of the field.

In the Open U10 Oglaza Oskar singled out on the top after defeating the earlier co-leader Wang Justin. In the respective Girls section Song Yuxin scored another victory and is now alone on the top of the rankings.

Bharath Subramaniyam H is still the leader in the Open U8 section, while among the Girls there has been a change on the top as now Ivanova Dilyana and Wei Yaqing share the first place with 7,5 points each.

The FIDE World Youth & Cadets Championship 2015 continued with round 8 here in Porto Carras, Halkidiki.

Mosadeghpour Masoud conceded a first draw in the Open U18 but he still remained half a point ahead of GM Alekseenko Kirill.

WFM Mahalakshmi M with 7,0 points in the Girls U18 section has extended her lead to a full point ahead of the large group of followers.

FM Fawzy Adham is still alone on the top in the Open U16 group, but in the Girls U16 the long-time leader WFM Abdusattorova Bakhora lost, and now WFM Kiolbasa Oliwia and WFM Sieber Fiona are on the shared first place.

In the Open U14 there is finally a single leader as FM Esipenko Andrey won his game to surge ahead in the standings. In Girls U14 WFM Vaishali R also moved into sole lead with the same number of points.

Top seed in Open U12, FM Abdusattorov Nodirbek, was held to a draw but nevertheless he remained leader with 7,0 points. In Girls U12 WFM Salimova Nurgyul broke the lock on the top by winning her 8th round game to move into sole lead.

In the Open U10 Oglaza Oskar joined Wang Justin on the shared first place with 7,0 points each. The earlier leader in the Girls section, WCM Mungunzul Bat-Erdene, was defeated and now Lomaia Diana and Song Yuxin are on the top of the rankings.

The Indian players are still topping the U8 sections. Bharath Subramaniyam H is in charge in the Open section with 7,5 points. Savitha Shri B is first among the Girls with 7,0 points.
