This is what Duda shared himself an interview after the Chess.com Classic Play In, “I am pretty fed up with classical chess or rather with what I have been doing for a very long time in this format.I think it is quite likely that I will not participate in both the World Cup and Grand Swiss” See Duda’s interview at the end of the Play in video here

This news comes in addition to a large list of players that did not qualify to the Grand Swiss through game requirements

Jan-Krzysztof Duda is set to play with Magnus Carlsen in the CCT Finals. The 2025 Chess.com Classic is the last online event of this year’s Champions Chess Tour (CCT). 2025 Chess.com Classic takes place May 18-23 and will feature some of the strongest players in the world. At stake are $150,000 and the last CCT Points, which will, in turn, determine the nine remaining players qualifying for the $1.5 million 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) via the CCT. Chess.com Classic 2025 is among the top events of The Chess Calendar for the month of May, see more from the Top Events Calendar
